Founder of Rotary International
Paul P. Harris founded Rotary in Chicago, Illinois, USA, on 23 February 1905 with a vision of bringing together business and professional leaders in friendship, integrity, and service. What began as a small gathering of four professionals has grown into a global humanitarian organization with more than 1.2 million members in over 200 countries and geographical areas, united by the motto "Service Above Self."

Rotary's Global Commitment to Eradicating Polio
For more than 35 years, Rotary International has been at the forefront of the global effort to eradicate polio. Through fundraising, advocacy, volunteer service, and partnerships with global health organizations, Rotary has helped reduce polio cases by more than 99.9%, bringing the world closer than ever to a polio-free future.
